Quadrato lucido con prima asserzione di Wittgenstein, coppia di frutti e persone occasionali
Mirror-polished bronze, 2 fruits;
200x5x200 cm
A 200x200 cm mirror-polished yellow bronze slab featuring, engraved along its diagonal, the first of seven statements at the core of the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus by Ludwig Wittgenstein: THE WORLD IS EVERYTHING THAT IS THE CASE.
On the slab’s surface there is a pair of fruits which must be periodically replaced. The mirror-polished surface reflects the people who approach the work, thus becoming part of it. The sculpture is a collage of relationships linked by different times: the eternal one of the bronze and the engraving, the unmoving yet perishable one of the fruits, and the ephemeral one of passers-by reflected on the piece.
