Del Drago and Arena require us to think according to a theoretical path that cannot take detours. They shed light on a point that is definitely not only aesthetic, but that art covers fully: the individual who takes the place of the collective dimension and yet wants, or must, actively and consciously take part in that collective system that is society, of which he seeks a direct and real experience, must adopt for his/her own research that Gramsci-inspired “living philology”, nowadays all the more burning and necessary.
