328 square metres of parquet were used to make this tower. The 140 bundles of parquet were then stacked horizontally and vertically and held together with grey duct tape. All this material is in turn held together by a metal structure that acts like a cage and that also supports a metal staircase. The staircase leads to the top of the structure and allows the viewer to see everything from a different viewpoint. The stack of parquet with a surface of 328 square meters corresponds to the approximate surface area of the Ilva steel factory in Taranto, where the workers were idle and not permitted to work.
