The actual footprint in the ground made by the artist’s shoes was divided into heel and half-sole. These were then moulded from earth collected along the Via dell’Idroscalo in Ostia and arranged in the four corners of the room. The location is where Pier Paolo Pasolini was killed on 2 November 1975. By dividing the soles and heels into the four corners of the room, the artist creates a self-portrait with which he embraces the entire physical space that the spectator has to cross.
