Cumulo (scarpe e macerie)

Cumulo (scarpe e macerie) is composed of a pair of the artist’s old shoes hanging, their sole facing upwards, approximately 120 cm above the ground from a steel wire attached to the ceiling. This view is the opposite of what the shoes would ordinarily ‘see’ when worn by the artist, treading the ground. The flat surface of the two soles becomes a platform for a pile of debris, collected from the cement floor in the artist’s studio, which is gradually crumbling; the more time the artist spends in the studio, the more he walks over the floor, accelerating its disintegration and revealing the layer of tuff below
