The red wax casting reproduction of a wooden plank 100 centimetres long and 20 centimetres

wide is engraved with the phrase DER BLITZ STEUERT ALLES (Lightning rules all things) an

aphorism by Heraclitus that Heidegger chose as the "incipit" for his hutte by having it carved on

the lintel at the entrance to his hut in Todnauberg in the Black Forest.
